FREE Metabolic Energy Requirement Calculator & Calories to Kilojoules Converter due to popular demand: COMING SOON!

  • Due to multiple requests for a simplified version of the Nutrient Calculator, soon to be incorporated on this site will be a kilojoule/calorie converter. Within just a couple of months it will be available for FREE as an online web based program for you to use. Also included will be a Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) calculator to determine your own food energy requirements - what good are food energy calculations when you don't know how many calories or kilojoules you actually need? The Metabolism Calculator (RMR) or Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) Computations will allow you to enter your activity levels, along with your age, weight and height, and then the program will automatically calculate your food energy intake requirements for that day. An enhanced version of the Metabolism (Resting Metabolic Rate, RMR or BMR) Computer will include variables that will allow calculations of your minimum Protein intake, and you can also enter the percentage of energy you would like to obtain in your diet from Fats. This will then tell you the amount of Carbohydrates, Fats and Protein you require in your diet to meet both your DAILY kj/cal requirements, and also your requirements PER MEAL.

  • To create this energy conversion program, plus the calories, kilojoules, protein, fat and carbohydrate suggested intake calculator, and then be able to offer it for free, is a litle time consuming, so please allow 6 weeks from today to check back in and see if it is available. (This was updated on 5th September 2009).

  • In the meantime, you can visit this page: Kilojoule counter/Calorie calculator to see how many Cal/Kj are contained in a small sample of foods. You can also read about the Cal/Kj counter/calculator that will be available VERY soon - also for free.

  • Thank you, and any feedback on additional features you would like to see in a Kilojoule to Calorie converter program, and also metabolic energy requirement (BMR/RMR) calculator (which includes suggested/recommended intakes of Carbohydrates, Protein and Fats) would be very much appreciated. This converter/calculator will be available as a FREE online application via this website.
