When completed it will be available online as a web based program, which ANYONE with internet access and an email address will be able to use. You will simply enter the weght of the food that you eat from a list of over 600 foods, and then the program will automatically calculate your Calorie intake that day (or the number of days over which you record the food intake).

To create this diet counter  /  calculator program, is a reasonably large task, HOWEVER, as of today - the 14th of September 2009 - the software to allow such a service is well underway, and this free online program  /  calculator should be available to you from mid October.

In the meantime, as a rough calories counting intake guide, the following foods are listed with their corresponding caloric value per 100 grams of that food:
- Meat, Red (veal, lamb, and of course beef): 263 Cal, 1100 Kj
- Poultry: (turkey, duck, goose, and chicken, ): 251 Cal, 1054 Kj
- Fish: 162 Calories, 677 Kilojoules
- Crustaceans & Mollusks: 140 Cal, 586 Kj
- Ham and Pork: 272 Calorie, 1138 Kilojoule
- Wild Meat (Kangaroo, Rabbit): 143 Cal, 600 Kj
- Yoghurt: 60 Calorie, 253 Kilojoule
- Peas, Beans, Soybeans: 112 Cal, 470 Kj
- Biscuits: 358 Cal, 1498 Kj
- Rice: 120 Caloric, 503 Kj
- Cereals, Breakfast: 344 Cal, 1442 Kj
- Cake: 379 Calories, 1378 Kilojoules
This list above is just a very small sample of foods with the approximate Caloric value per 100 grams of each food. Very soon the nutrient calculator  /  counter program will be available which will list OVER SIX HUNDRED foods, which you can enter as an individual meal, or a full day, or several days or even a weeks meal to get your TOTAL calorie intake per that time frame. You will NOT have to enter one food, then add it's caloric content, then measure another food, then another, and so on ..... as most other programs provide. How tedious! This program will be the most user-friendly Calorie Counter on the web!
